Signman,
Devil’s Mess at Millies is basically scrambled eggs with onions, chorizo, hot sauce and a cooling avacado. Comes with garlic toast and great home fries. Not to be missed.
Ort,
I don’t recall the radio station I was there from 1985 until 1992. I listened mostly to WRVA. I lived in the Fan right at Robinson and Floyd. We were surrounded by restaurants. There was Sobel’s, Davis and Main, Commercial Cafe(now closed), New York Deli, and lots more. My abosolute favorite however was The Track. We went there so often that the waiter, "Joe" knew our cocktail requests the moment we walked through the door and would have them for us as we were being seated. A truly great place.
I’ve been up and down I-85 a number of times and still find it to be a vast wasteland. There may be someplaces off the beaten track but if you are in a hurry they are hard to find. I find my best Roadfood trips are those that I make while on vacation so that I have time to explore.
