Looks like we’re going to have to “do” without Houston for a while. It’s a flat, low-lying city with 100’s of square miles of concrete over clay soil. The water channels to the Gulf are being blocked by storm surge, so water literally has nowhere to go. They already have had 20″ of rain with another 20″ yet to come.
Yet, remarkably, there had been little or no loss of life. There is order in the streets and the power is still on. Go, Houston!
