Sexist though that example may be, I think that anything that would increase the percentage of men who wash their hands after using the toilet would be a good thing.

I have observed so many men who exit from toilets and then immediately exit from the men’s room that I will no longer touch a men’s room door handle with my bare hands. After all, what good is it for me to wash my hands if I then have to touch a door handle contaminated with fecal residue bearing…God only knows which diseases. So, I wash thoroughly and use a paper towel to open the door handle. If there is no paper towel available, I use a tissue from the small supply that I carry in my pocket.

I have often wondered…Are women as slovenly and as unhygienic as so many men apparently are?
