We selected "a few times a week" from the survey. Generally once every couple of days from a superb corner store located right next door to us. The store is family run and has competitive prices and a great wine selection. It is referred to by people on our street as the second fridge.
Then it’s once a week shopping at Litteri’s, an Italian gorcery store in DC, for cold cuts, pizza, pasta supplies, and Italian wine.
Also, about once every two weeks at Trader Joe’s in Northern Virginia for stuff we can’t get at Litteri’s.
Once a week at a new organic vegetable market, located again in DC. (We are not religious about organic, but it is nice to support our local farmers …)
A trip usually once a week to Eastern Market, Washington DC’s oldest market, for eggs, poultry and fruit.
Rounded out by a once every two weeks trip to Price Choppers and Target, for the rest of our stuff.
Sounds like a lot of running around, but it’s fun!
