Hi ..
I live in Edison NJ and was thinking about buying either a hot dog cart or food truck. I was wondering how Stephanie s situation worked out. I called about getting my license and they stated I had to be mobile to sell hot dogs unless you owned a cart since early 1970.
I read the whole discussion on this topic. I am trying to make sure this is the right movie for me, as my family does count on my salary as a source of income. My dream is to be self employed. I love cooking and would like to start small and eventually open a restaurant. Buying a hot dog cart or food truck I believe would give me this opportunity to get my feet wet while figuring out the direction I want to go. I plan on long hours and working hard at first but can you really make a living on this? It sounds like the only down fall to this business is location. I am just doing the research right now and would like to decide what to buy (hot dog cart or food truck) by January 2007. I come from a corp. background and I don t really have any experience in this industry other than my drive to succeed. Can you really make it in this industry? Did the women in New Jersey have any luck finding a location? Is anyone in my area successful? I am not looking to be spoon feed as someone said but just a little guidance. Like I said I have a family that counts on me and just want to make sure that I am prepared before I jump into this kind of industry. Thank you for reading my long sob story. I will appreciate anyones honesty.
