Ahhh, Hostess Cherry Pie! In grade school I was usually one of the hot-lunch kids or if mom packed a lunch it was your basic – pb&J on whole wheat with milk, or a cheese sandwich with tomato soup in the thermos, plus apple/banana, carrot sticks, etc. But on the few days a year that we went on field trips, she let me take my favorite field trip sack lunch: Baloney or pickle & pimento loaf on Wonder with Miracle Whip, a bag of Fritos, a Dr. Pepper, and of course the Hostess Cherry Pie. Sigh.
