Well,
I went, and I survived, but if I never go back, I won’t be disappointed.
I ordered the $7.99 "fish and chips." Instead of being light and flaky, the fish (which they said was Mahi), was heavy and fishy-tasting. It was probably from a box. I’ve had better fried fish from frozen dinners I’ve bought at the grocery store. The curly fries that came with it had a curiously plastic flavor. I ate about half of what I got – and it’s very unusual for me not to clear my plate. My dining companion agreed that the meal was very disappointing.
To make matters worse, the atmosphere was not to my liking. Noisy music made it hard to have a conversation. The place was crowded, but I can’t see why anyone would go there if they had the choice (I didn’t). After we left, I saw a local Italian beef stand on the opposite corner and was very tempted to go in and get a real lunch. I restrained myself, and spent the afternoon munching pretzels to get the taste out of my mouth.
