. . . recently we have acquired some posters that just don t like what people are willing to share. . . . Of course you ll make whom ever you hire crazy, and most likely go through a dozen or more managers until you come to realize that most of the people in the concession business are in it because they love it. . . It s also the easiest way in the world to lose 30 or 40 grand.
No, I can accept an answer I don’t like, as long as it is in fact an answer to the question I asked. But, for example: if ask what’s the best way to stream a hotdog, I don’t want to hear why grilling is better than steaming, or how my business might fail if I choose to steam. I just want opinions on how to steam a dog. That’s all.
Secondly, why would you assume I’d make whom ever I hire crazy? I have people at my current business that have been with me from day one. My newest employee has been with me over three years. So why should I expect the hotdog business to be any different?
It’s not hard to keep employees. You treat people decent and pay them well, and they’ll usually stick around. My lowest paid employee earns about 30k a year. Now, while I might not be able to match that salary in the food business, I am willing to pay a good manager as much as I can possibly afford and still turn a worthwhile profit for myself.
You say I’m playing a game. Maybe you’re right. But I didn’t get to that level by being foolish or lazy. It was hard work. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon either. I earned every dime I have.
