I have been on many cruises but the one that I took on the Delta Queen was my very favorite. It is a beautiful vessel and it seemed like it took us back in time. Wen we first boarded, we walked into a lobby where we could look down at the dining room and my grandson said "This looks like the first class dining room on the Titanic."

Our rooms were lovely, the crew was all wonderful and the food was great. The best part was the leisurely pace of life that week and the people we met on shore at all the stops. We disembarked in New Orleans and had an outstanding two days there. A week later Katrina hit and our hearts went out to all the crew members that we met that lived in New Orleans and to all the hotel clerks, wait persons, cab drivers, and other locals that we met

Thank you for posting this information. It would be sad to see her not being able to glide down the river again, and a loss to a more gentle way of life.
