I have to put in a plug for a great owner-occupied place that is easily Roadfood worthy. Sonio’s Cafe on the NW corner of W Charleston and S Valley View. Not too far from the strip or downtown. I think the place serves the best rotissiere chicken in town. A half chicken with two sides (I like the Chicken Pasta Salad and the Hot Potatoes with Onions, Garlic, and Special Seasonings) is $7.20 + tax. And everytime, it is great. Plenty of other choices; everything on the menu is under $10. Nice casual family-style place.
Or…M&M Soul Food Cafe is right across Charleston. You want to talk about great food at reasonable prices? I live way west of both places, but if I was closer, I would hit both at least once a week.
