I just stopped in Wegmans today, while "on the road"…
Some of the prices ARE pretty ridiculous. The steak dinner in their hot prepared food section goes for $16.99 !……. (no salad included, either). I have to admit, I’ve tried it a few times, cause it has looked real good, on occasion. But the big problem for me is for that price, I really like my steaks HOT… and it is just warm, at best.
The pizza prices are decent. It is a nice fresh , doughy pizza..
(no match for a NYC pizza, though). It’s a good place if you’re towing kids with you.
There is real comfy seating upstairs; casual, yet upscale.
The Chinese food hot bar, is better than average, but one often spends way more then they expect to their, as the price is per 1/2 pound. I’ve often gotten only a teeny, teeny bit of lemon chicken or kung pao chicken, and it’s like $5.00
I have’nt liked the quality of the tuna sub sandwich last time I had it. And the roast beef and turkey subs had a very "processed" taste!
Yuck! I like the freshly roasted type.
I like Wegmans for their out-of-state newspapers. I often pick up an LA Times and/or Las Vegas Review Journal there. They’re about $7.00 each though, but it’s fun for a change instead of always reading the online versions. More info in the printed version, as well..
