Gonna cross that bridge into Memphis? Downtown Memphis is a weekdays lunch only place called Leonard’s on Main Street, where the trolley cars run. It’s a buffet, and a terrific bargain. I especially recommend their whiskey corn puddin’ and the butter roll dessert. I think the courthouse was around the corner, and on the side streets there was street parking available.

The night before we ate at Blues City Caf�. BBQ offerings are severely limited on Sundays, so we know there are better ribs there, but we still enjoyed it.

On Beale Street is the most amusing general store, A. Schwab’s, which is worth your time.
