Penn Alps in Granstville, about fifteen minutes east on I 68 from Friendsville is not bad. It is amish fare, and they usually have a good buffet, both breakfast and dinner, on the weekends.

In Oakland there is the Cornish Manor Inn. I haven’t been there is about five years, but I used to love it. It is in a large Victorian home, and I remeber the decour being really neat. The menu was fairly sophisticated, and the kitchen was able to execute well.

I heard the people who used to own the Cornish Manor sold it, so I’m not sure if the new owners are keeping up the same level of quality.
