it’s worth it if it’s worth eating.. my favorite hotel serves an excellent full scale breakfast with the chef popping in and out of the dining room, making sure everything is to your liking, and if not, he’ll whip up something for you personally!

I am guessing "your favorite hotel" is Embassy Suites? If not, where?

Goodness no! It is Pelican Suites in Cambria, Ca. Gorgeous little place along the ocean with some stunning deals if you are clever. You can get an ocean view suite if you time it right for around 99 dollars… this includes the aforementioned breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese, and dessert assortment in the evening. This place is a gem. I’ve enjoyed eggs with spinach and roasted red peppers, sausage with potatoes and onions, and crepes with asparagus and cheese. In the afternoon they offer two white wines, two reds, and sparkling cider along with an assortment of crackers, cheese, and fresh fruit. Nightly dessert includes severals kinds of cookies, bars, and cheesecake. All day in the lobby is assorted coffees, teas, and cocoa. With all that included one hardly needs to eat out.

This brings me back to where and when I honeymooned down there. Went to see Hearst Castle. I don’t remember if I stayed at Pelican or this place:

Funny how they promote their waffle machine on the home page.
