The Travelin Man
I can’t believe that I forgot to mention O’Steen’s. They make some of the best fried shrimp I have ever eaten. There is also a location of the Florida-only Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine, which is an excellent option for Cuban.
Others have raved about the Brickyard in Daytona, but I have not been there myself.
I also forgot to mention the place that has become my favorite restaurant in Melbourne – Bonefish Willy’s. They do excellent seafood – much of which cannot be found on many other menus (snook, cobia, etc.). One of their frequent specials is a snook bruschetta – which is just plain wonderful. A couple of caveats – they are not right off the interstate – they are on the intercoastal, which makes for a nice view, if not an easy stop. Also, their inside dining room is very small, so if the weather is lousy you either need to make a reservation for an indoor table or pick another place! [:D] On a nice day/night, the outside seating area cannot be beat.
