I have been in the radio & marketing business for a great deal of my life. What did Coke get out of "New Coke"? Virtual nightly coverage on every major TV network that people didn’t want a soda that tasted like Pepsi..They wanted..Real Coke! Coca-Cola couldn’t have possibly paid for that much positive advertising. It wasn’t a mistake, it was the slickest advertising gimmick ever floated.
