Here’s one they missed:
Gablinger’s "Dietetic" Beer was rolled out (by Rheingold) in the late 60’s. It flopped. Dismally.
Rheingold sold the recipe (formula?) to Miller, who re-introduced it around 1974 as the first "lite beer". MILLER LITE begat a billion dollar industry.
It’s all in the marketing.
Miller bought Chicago’s Meister Brau and thus acquired their "Lite" beer. I’m not sure where Meister Brau got the recipe but Miller didn’t get it from Rheingold.
