Frostburg is a college town (my alma mater) so there are plenty of good cheap eats. Giuseppe’s Restaurant at 11 Bowery Street has good Italian food. Duncan’s (Dunc’s) Bar & Grill (Main Street at Bowery) is always good for classic burgers, fries, chili and other bar food and has live music some weekends. The Silver Leaf Dining Room at 65 Bowery has an AYCE buffet that is good. West of town on US 40 on Big Savage Mountain, the Hen House has good ribs, chicken and seafood. Au Petit Paris has good french food but is moderately expensive. In nearby Cresaptown (down US 220) we loved to go to Fred Warner’s German Restaurant but haven’t been since Fred passed away in 2006. Half the fun of going to Fred’s was seeing and talking to him – he never met a customer he wasn’t willing to stand around and talk to for an hour or so. Great guy.
