Interesting thread, but more definition is needed. Is a food capital defined by gross output or quality? It is a very important distinction.
Beer&Snausages seems to have redefined the thread by listing "world food capitals." This is very different from US food capitals.
Let us decide what we are talking about. Quantity or quality, US or world. As NYNM started the thread NYNM should define it. Personally, I would stick to US and go with quality as quantity is just a list of statistics.
I defined it as Chamber of Commerce stuff. LIke cities that "decide" they are the food capital of xxx and then promote it with signs (maybe festivals). I mean like who decides this anyway???
