I have to say that when I read of your location and the description of your property, I was reminded of two places featured in several of the Stern’s Books…they are across the street from each other in Eastern Arkansas.
Craigs BBQ is a small (very small) shack like place in front of the house on the south side of the street…and the Family Pie Shop is across the street in the garage behind the house there. These are in DuVall’s Bluff about midway between Little Rock and Memphis. They are on the east end of a very small town on Rt 70 which runs parallel to I-40. If it isn’t too long a ride, You might take a ride over there to see how a couple of other folks have reacted to what seems to be the same sort of "Dream".
While I am not a big Fan of the ‘Que at Craig’s BBQ, many folks love the place. AND it is a real ‘Roadfood’ sort of place, that’s for sure. Same with the Family Pie Shop! I love the pies, but don’t think you are at a Baker’s Square when you stop! The inside looks a lot like my garage looks at times…but the Pies are Super!
I’ll bet both these business’s started with the same sort of dream and they’ve been at it for decades now !
