I had a discussion with a guy on Roadfood over a year ago about the same thing. He had bought a bottle of one of Blair’s sauces at some ridiculously high price (somewhere in the $hundreds, if I remember right) that rated way up there in Scoville units.
He said he bought it as an investment. [V] He was serious, and I supposed he knew what he was doing.
I don’t believe it would be possible to consume anything that rated at 12 million Scoville, so I definitely believe it’s a "mine’s bigger" thing. It certainly wouldn’t enhance the flavor of anything. [xx(]
Oh, another thing, my current favorite for tabasco sauces is Louisiana Gold. My favorite habanero sauce is still Marie Sharp’s. I’m currently working on a bottle of Marie Sharp’s Green Habanero sauce that is incredible. [:p]
