First choice: Untoasted plain or sesame bagel with nova salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion. Second choice: Pork roll, fried egg and cheese on a sesame or pumpernickel bagel.

I agree with the poster who commented that not all bagels are really bagels. The mushy ones are like Wonder Bread rolls…no relation to a crusty, chewy bagel. I saw a Rachel Ray piece about Montreal the other day…their bagels looked very good. Boiled first, then baked. H & H in NYC and many of the bagel shops in NJ are very good.
