Del Stater’s House of Toad

"MMM…MMM…That’s mighty tasty toad!"

I remember Del Stater’s Rabbit Ranch.

Sometime in the 80s the editors of Spy solicited proposals from PR firms for a rabbit-themed fast food chain. Anyone remember the name? I remember they served "Hare balls" instead of McNuggets.

There was a rabbit restaurant in the 80’s near the Purdue campus. It was called HopScotch, and had a cartoon of a bunny wearing kilts. The owner had big plans for a chain, and convinced a lot of area farmers who were in hard times then, to raise rabbits in their abandoned cattle barns.
The owner spent all the money on himself, and the rabbits couldn’t survive cold winters in oversized drafty buildings.

It did in hindsight seem hare-brained.[:)]
