Drove down to Raleigh for my nephew’s wedding New Year’s Eve and have a couple of suggestions for good meals from the trip. My brother rented out Big Ed’s in Raleigh’s City Market area for the rehearsal dinner. Pulled Pork, BBQ Chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and cobbler; everything tasty and well made. The reception was at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. The dinner included a tasty filet and Chicken Duxelle, everything was delicious. Had Sunday brunch at the Inn before I left. Very, very good with some southern specialties like grits and buscuits and gravy and only $8.50. I took a couple of their single serving little glass jars of their Carolina Inn Jam as a souvenier.
