My Granddaughters (12 and 10) know I will not cross the portal of a franchise food joint so they have learned to take me out (I pay of course) to
local places that I might not otherwise try. Last Spring they talked me into a Chinese buffet that turned out to have some pretty good items on the menu.
And a few weeks ago, Kelsey, the 12 year old ,took me to a sushi place where I had a grerat lunch – she did the ordering and made some fine choices. However, I still cant talk them into a chili dog for lunch , or a hearty fish stew, or a great soup at a place up on the mountain- and they still put ketchup on their french fries and hot dogs when we eat at P&Gs.

Way back, when we were young and traveling with out two boys, Howard Johnsons was the eating place of choice – everyone liked their fried clams and hot dogs and , of course, the ice cream sundae.

Cheers, John
