Diner food works fine for my kids (and yes, they’ve been to the Forest Diner et al, not great diners by any mean, but OK for this area) but like a lot of kids, they love McDs. As far as stopping at those places goes, when we go on vacation, it’s roadfood. But when it’s a long trip, and we just want to get there (like our 16 hour trip to FL last Christmas) we stop wherever it’s convenient, which usually means fast food, or God help me, Cracker Barrel.

So we do both, and I’m fine with that decision.
