Thanks, I’ll have to try Dixie Bones. I’ve been to the Smokey Pig in Ashland, which did a very nice job. I also found a small joint in a strip mall out near Manassas (called Willard’s) that was surprisingly good, given its location in the middle of nowhere.
No visit to DC is complete without a stop at Old Glory in Georgetown. Sure, they don’t spend as much time on the meat as some places like Smokey Pig, but they’ve done a great job with the sauces and you can try several regions’ flavors in the same sitting.
