Do you have a link to the model grease trap being installed? … I haven’t seen grease traps directly attached to sinks, so I’m a little puzzled here. Is this for a mobile truck/trailer or a BM restaurant?
this is for a brick and mortar.
the problem is space, we don’t have room for both the disposal and the trap. there needs to be a drain where the disposal used to be so it can be plumbed to the trap.
These are pics of the disposal and the drain.
The disposal is going to come out and we’re going to install the trap in this space. It’s the only place i have for it to go.
I’m shopping around right now im looking at the jackson 50gpm from rest. depot/jetro. If the plumber says he thinks its worth it. The requirement the city gave me was 25lbs/ 50gpm
[Quote]your plumber is not sure what to do? YIKES! get a new plumber right away. A grease trap is waaaaaaay more important than a garbage disposal.
he knows how to hook up a commercial grease trap, he’s never had to remove a disposal/erator to make room for the trap and neither of us can find anything that reduces the commercial erator sized drain (which is ballpark 8″ in diameter) to a standard size drain which is like 2″. typically the disposal has a 2″ outlet that you plumb to the drain since
My goal is to figure a way to get rid of the disposal and keep the current soiled dish table, convert the drain so it can be plumbed to the new trap. Its looking like there may not exist a conversion for the drain.to fix this problem.
