I buy SPAM singles, and the only meat listed is PORK [:D]

Thanks, that’s good to know.   The name SPAM is a compost of “SPiced hAM’.   From what I’ve been able to find, SPAM has always contained ‘pork shoulder & a little ham trimmings’ up until about 2007.   SPAM has never contained ‘mystery meat’.  

… But that doesn’t seem to be true any more with ‘mechanical separated chicken’ and what ever else is added.   Therefore the name SPAM is no longer indicates you are buying a quantity CANNED pork product or the content is ‘SPiced hAM’.    Even the ‘Turkey SPAM’ dilutes the SPAM name as being ‘PORK’.   When SPAM was changed to chicken I don’t know.

I think it is fraud by Hormel to put low cost chicken in the ‘spam’ product that has been historically pork since it creation (1940s ?).  The name should have been changed to ‘SPIC’ (SPiced chICken).

So is the cold cut, spiced ham, still made with only pork? That’s pretty good!
