We’ve done a bunch of "fixer-uppers" over the years and have discovered what a great value ceramic tile can be if you do the install yourself. The labor is just that…time and effort…it requires a little planning but anybody with a working knowledge of hand and power tools and elementary construction technique can learn to do fabulous tile work in very short order. Commercial grade tile can be purchased at any "big-box" store for around $1.00/sq. ft. if you use what’s in stock and avoid the special order section! Have fun…the house sounds way cool!
