I wish I could help you with you kitchen ideas but I have always left that to a architect.

Regardless, I like you plans and building is so much fun. If there is one idea I can offer, it is this. Eliminate as much maintenace as you can. Do something where you do not have to paint, no cleaning of gutters, windows that you can clean without a hassel, floors that are ceramic, the less amount of carpet, the better and so on.
