I’ve always liked the kitchen they did on monsterhouse using mechanic boxes for cabinets but it depends how far out of the box you wish to step. Exposed pipes with outdoor hosebibs? cement slab counter? diamond plate backsplash? A welding vent you can charcoal grill under? I have a bachelor friend who instead of buying one big $$$$ frig has one small one on the kitchen counter, one in the TV room and one in the florida room and an ice maker in the laundry/utility room.
