I don’t think it’s funny at all. I save calories where I can. After many years of drinking diet soda, it tastes better to me than the regular stuff (which now tastes too sweet). But I generally buy low cal/diet/low fat products when they taste good to me and the non-diet things when they don’t. Can’t imagine diet burgers or fries (though I do hope McDonald’s has finally switched to canola oil or something other than lard for the fries) so getting the regular ones along with the diet soda seems perfectly sensible and unfunny to me.
