Jim: If you get up to the Fenimore before the end of December they have a show of about 70 Gramdma Moses’ that I neglected to mention in my report. She’s one American primitive that I’ve had my fill of – it all looks like wallpaper to me after too damn much exposure in every possible medium. They also have a wonderful Hicks "Peaceable Kingdom" in their permanent collection.

I guess you used to show in Brouckville; we were amazed when we passed thru that tiny place to find that it was totally devoted to antiques – that place must be something else in season.

Thankfully, you will find few "wine snobs" in the Finger Lakes – most of the people we shared tasting rooms with seemed relatively uninformed about wines and were making no prestenses. The snobs, what few there were, were mainly behind the bar pouring the wine.
