There is a place south of Cooperstown on rte 28 called the Yum Yum Shack. No the name is not that appealing and we drove by it several times this summer when our son was playing in tournaments in the Cooperstown Dreampark. My wife and I stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer and were surprised by the interesting menu and how good the food served to other looked. We were sorry we did not have time for dinner. Check it out. For a decent steak there is a steak restaurant near the best Western south of Cooperstown in a shopping mall on 288 south of the yum yum shack. O’Hanlan’s. The beer is good at omergang but the tour and tasting is pretty short. The is also an italian restaruant in Cooperstown. I think it is Ncoletta’s and friends went and said it was good.
Also on 28 south of Cooperstown near Dreampark is Dimaggio’s gourmet hot dogs (pretty good). Also north of the Best Western/McD’s/O’Hanlans center is a bbq place called Redneck Cafe which was very good.
Stay away from the Otesaga Hotel as it is expensive, ordinary food and stuffy rude service.
