I don’t think this requires a YUK at all. I think the problem lies in the word "cheesecake" and our preconceptions of same. Someone says "cheesecake" and we think of a sweet dessert. If the creator of this recipe had described it as an appetizer or party spread, which the serving instructions suggest, you probably would have latched on to it with all salivary glands set on stunned. It would still be appropriate even if the author had intended this as a meal finisher. Think of the English tradition of ending a meal with a selection of cheese and fruit served with digestive biscuits.
I admit that I would be sorely disappointed if this was served to me as a "dessert"; my taste-buds all prepped and ready for something sweet. But if I knew I was getting a savory, cheesy tidbit; just by looking at the recipe, I know I would enjoy this and I think most of you would too.
