If you make it out to the (far) West suburbs, there are a couple of must-try places in Batavia:

Kathy’s Diner – The best (and biggest) pancake you’ll eat. You can’t go wrong with any of their breakfast offerings.

El Taco Grande – Unbelievable Mexican food. Family owned and it shows. A bit pricey (less so if you stay away from the margaritas), but definitely worth it. Guacamole is to die for.
