I shouldn’t admit this, but I can remember when Pizza Hut was a sit-down restaurant, with cocktails and tablecloths and silverware and pizza you could eat and not be sick for two days.
I can’t think of one that hasn’t gone downhill, but the one that disappoints me is Boston Chicken/Market. Before the Golden Arches took them over the food was actually fresh. The creamed spinach tasted like creamed spinach, not like corn starch. They made terrific pot pies you could take home and cook. Some restaurants actually diverged from the program and made their own chicken soup from the spare parts. But McD’s put an end to all that.
