That’s about what I do. Whenever I discover that my wife has "violated, or renewed" my cast iron with soap, or God forbid, the dishwasher (it’s happened), I fry corn tortillas in my pans. A good 40 minutes of frying up a bunch of chips resaturates the pan and the pores and it’s alsost as good as it was before.
