Welcome to Durham! There’s A LOT of good barbecue within driving distance, both east and west o’ the Triangle. In Durham, I love the Q Shack and Bullock’s. In Chapel Hill, the Barbecue Joint is not to be missed. I haven’t been yet but I expect Bon’s Home Cooking (on Franklin St in Chapel Hill) is an excellent meat-and-three place. Her old restaurant in Carrboro was awesome. BTW, Bon is one of the daughters of beloved CH institution Mama Dip. I can’t however, recommend Mama Dip’s restaurant — overpriced and coasting on reputation/beloved institution status.
