I have but one suggestion…One we used to use at least Monthly, but now only when passing thru the area.

HODEL’s just a block off the 99 at Olive Rd (on the northern edge of Bakerfield). No matter if it is Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner they serve a solid selection of downhome foods and fresh fruits etc on a buffet for each meal, Or order off the menu if thats what you wish. Very reasonable prices, a clean place where locals gather frequently. We have enjoyed the place for 20 years and will be back again when we can.

My favorites?? The Beef Short Ribs or Pot Roast on the dinner buffet, The fried Chicken is always good.
We used to stop for breakfast (after two hours on the road from Hesperia) It was a great place to relax before the long run "Up" the Valley to Sacramento.
