Good question. My bad. But, here’s a better one. Why serve something that you can’t make properly? The best bread pudding I’ve ever had is right here in Ormond Beach, FL at Stonewood. It’s a chocolate bread pudding that utilizes their left over sour dough bread and it’s served with a hot whiskey sauce. They are individually baked and served hot with vanilla ice cream. Fantastic. Had a few versions in New Oreans and they were very, very good, too.
The good stuff has plenty of eggs and heavy cream. I like to soak the raisins in liqueor, pre-butter the bread before cubing it and I use lots of eggs and cream. I make sure the pecans are inside so they do not come to the surface and burn.
I have to admit that Ormond beach bread pudding sounds fantastic. If you don’t feel like taking the time to make it from scratch this is a really good bread pudding mix. Don’t listen to the recipe telling you to use white bread or french loaf. Instead go get some cinnamon raisin bread or if you just cinnamon swirl bread (I use both) and make it with that. the praline sauce is outstanding
