Lynchburg is indeed in a dry county, but it’s a very small county. Go ten miles in any direction from Lynchburg, and you’re out of the dry county. Also, JD has a special dispensation from the county, and is allowed to sell bottles to the public, although one cannot sample the product at the tour.
Dickel is just outside Tullahoma, in a place called Cascade Hollow. The distillery shut down operations for several years, due to an overabundance of product. I think they started up again last year.
