One of the perks to being a part of the Maker’s Mark Marketing Club is that you can have your name blazed onto a barrel of the stuff when it is distilled and set aside…Then when the barrel comes of age for bottling they will invite you to a tasting as the product is being bottled. It is a fun time, and makes me feel a part of the local bourbon coulture here. OK it is time to update this thread.

Today I received my Certificate from Makers Mark with the Barrel Number etc, of ‘my’ barrel. They will notify me when the bourbon comes of age and we can come out and observe "Our Barrel" being bottled….and buy some of the bottles if’n that’s our pleasure. While this sounds like quite a sales thingy, I must admit it is a good one. They even have photo’s on the website that ‘show me’ "My barrel" as it was placed in the Storage Barn. I think this is neat, and look forward to seeing(and tasting) the finished product when it comes of age. Maybe we can have a Louisville Meet and Drink session to celebrate that event.
