If you have to make the choice between Bojangles & Hardees I would say to go with Hardees, although I haven’t been to one since they closed up the ones within a lazy distance of my normal weekday route. Their biscuits aren’t as good as they were 10 years ago but I’m pretty sure they still make them fresh every day, unlike McD’s that come frozen in a box.

Popeyes Fried Chicken’s biscuits are still probably my favorite. Their texture is different, maybe finer, but they have shrunk so that they aren’t much bigger than canned biscuits — and aren’t as big as the Grands canned ones. There’s one in the Florence SC area, 2301 W. Locas Street; Florence, SC 29501; (843)292-0386, that looks to be near the U.S. 52/I-95 exit and another in the Savannah area, 4401 US Highway 17; Richmond Hill, GA 31324; (912)756-3381, that looks to be near the U.S. 17/I-95 exit.

Good luck & enjoy!
