My Grandma always had food to put out when company arrived, expected or not. I learned to like frozen cake from her![:D] It was always accompanied by laughter & good company. My Mom wasn’t a great lover of cooking but there were certain things she did better than any one & she helped me learn these recipes. But I have to give her credit for my love of cooking & travel & roadfood, what my mother did was to encourage all of us to read. I had a library card before I went to school (this was 1955 folks, unheard of then) Through my reading I learned of other lands & people & their foods, the next step was to seek them out. My Mom’s philosophy was a lunch at the White Coffee Pot was better than having to make one at home!! ROADFOOD!!![:D]
