PURPLE JESUS – I had forgotten such a wonderful libation, perhaps dead brain cells. We had a delightful concoction during my college years, late 60’s – early 70’s – Kent State.

BATH TUB BURNER, my guess other places had it, but called it something different.

Somebody would throw a party, BYOB, usually on a Thursday, one had to get ready for the weekend didn’t they? All it took was a bath tub, preferably clean, then as the guests arrived with their drinks of choice they added it to the tub, which was prepped with ice, several bottles of Everclear and a number of cans of Hawaiian Punch. The guests would add what ever they brought, i.e cheap beer, vodka, cheap wine, cheap booze, soda, etc. Then the party would begin. It could also be made in a garbage can, again we were hopeful that it was clean. But after a while I don’t remember if anyone cared if the tub or the garbage can was clean, only if there was enough for one last drink. At least that is what I think I remember.I could be wrong.
