Carlings Black Label, in Canada, is really pretty good beer. Used to live in Natick, MA. on the wrong side of town, and you could tell time from the huge Black Label neon sign from the brewery on Rt. 9 from my buddy’s bedroom window. Among the losers, or at least questionnable, for me are Mickey’s malt; deadly in the barrel bottles. Made by Heilemans, which is actually OK. Buckhorn, from Texas, was either Pearl or Lone Star vat scrapings for $.99 a 6 in Austin. Iron City, out of Pittsburgh, is OK, but it is rumored that once a year or so they come out with ‘Olde FrothingSlosh’, ‘the beer with the head on the bottom’ with an insanely fat ugly babe on the can; the beer was undrinkable…collect the cans. In NE, Narragansett, from R.I. was the preferred cheap drunk. I remember ‘Hi neighbor, have a ‘Gansett’ on old Red Sox tv (like ’50’s); I actually have an original route drivers’ shirt from ‘Gansett; has the logo’s and everything. Last but not least would have to be old homie favorites Old English 800 and Champale, which may have contained toxic waste; knocked ya on yer ass though. Cheers
