The Lambrusca and the ‘Asti-Spumonte'(Sp??) got a lot of TV commercial attention in the early 80’s. I don’t think I would put them in the same class as the fruity specials like Boone’s Farm….and for sure not with Thunderbird. It causes me to chuckle a bit when they run the new Gallo Sonoma-Napa wine commercials with the same people who were the Freaks in the 60’s with the cheap wine….and now are the Yup’s in the Tweed Sport coat driving the Jag thru the Napa Valley dragging gold medals by the dozens to prove that apparently Thunderbird ages real well[:p][:p]

Mr. Mayor, I remember that stuff although I never did like it. I think I pretended to like it.

The only wine I truly enjoy today is a cabernet sauvignon Preferably Mondavi and even then, it has to be with a porterhouse, baked potato and a salad.

Now a good drink of liquor, thats another story.
