1) It’s "lambrusco", not "lambrusca", an italian wine with little to commend it except it’s almost soda pop lightness (didn’t we all drink it in the 70s?)
2) Along with Boone’s Farm, there was also Annie Greenspring’s (remember the Berry Frost flavor?). A friend of mine grouped them together under the moniker "Annie Boondocks".
3) This inevitably leads to the subject of other "entry-level" wine imports from that era: Lancers and Mateusse (sp?) (both roses from Portugal), and Blue Nun (sweet german stuff).
